Eh. People were hardly buying at the pre-buyout prices. I’m sure cards will eventually move at these insane prices but the time invested will make it a bad investment short term.

Absolutely not. I bought the product and opened some cool stuff including a few of the special edition collector boosters, but the FOMO is fabricated for these particular cards. If you have them I'd say sell them now if you want.

I love the art on the cards and I will pay the difference if its not huge, but like you said its been cheap for almost a year we had our chance

I love it when art makes an impact like this. The mindsets of players and art collectors can be so different at times. I think there are some small art and lord of the rings collectors who want this particular set which is quite rare. The playable cards will drive price but these may have a high floor for the art collectors.

Singles are the way to go but this is not the way.

Those people now chasing at the higher ends are commonly referred to as Donkey's (for several reasons). And even Donkey's know it is the one in the car that we want.

Always wanted all of these for my own personal collection. Went on TCG to buy Gandalf the day the buyout started. Tried to Chase down 18 of the 20 (No Ring and No Sauron) before the price spiked. 5 orders were cancelled. At least I got a few of them....

I just don’t like the lotr cards. So it’s meh , I can’t imagine they are worth much and am I the only one who finds those special art ones ugly af ?

I'll preface by saying that of course art is fully subjective so I'm convinced someone out there will pay premium but to me? I'd pay extra to NOT get one of those stupid poster art cards: Not only are they unplayable if you can't read it but even if you somewhat like the acid-era poster vibe it is absolutely completely irrelevant to Lord of the Rings as a property and within the context of the set with something as genre-defining for fantasy having an art style that is firmly and pretty much *IMMEDIATELY* identified as not fantasy and rooted firmly in the reality of the 60s and 70s planet Earth it completely takes me out of the experience. I hope no regular viewers here fall for it: like Mox man correctly said this is very clearly someone trying to dump their collection of these at a premium and nobody should fall for it.

They still can. Reprint the ones they did in the Brothers War, no like there is much value for the normal versions to lose there, and add the rest of the franchise. Heck I wouldn't mind if they made Shia LeBeouf into a card if it helps get the whole thing done.
